Constance Lake First Nation settles in the centre of the Kenogami Watershed. Most infamous Mamawamatawa (where four rivers meet four major rivers meet; Pagwa River, Nagagamisis River, Kabinakagami River, and Ridge River) holds profoundly to our ancestorial lands.

Constance Lake First Nation’s Agreement with Ontario

In 2017, Ontario and the Constance Lake First Nation have signed an historic electricity agreement that will provide economic benefits for the First Nation community moving forward.

Protection of our lands and water

We are the First Peoples, the stewards, and the guardians of the lands and waters surrounding the Kenogami Watershed. Training and certification for aquatic biomonitoring has been apart of the lands and resources team.

Our story

The people are the First Peoples that worked and lived within the Kenogami Watershed, also known as the artic watershed. Costance Lake traditional land use is strongly related to individual and community well being

Our chief and council

The Constance Lake First Nation Government is comprised of an elected Chief and six elected Councillors. They are elected by a ballot vote of registered members of the Constance Lake First Nation who are 18 years of age and older. They currently serve a two-year term.
